STRAY CATS.............
Do you see stray cats which are homeless, hungry, sick, or
pregnant? Well, we've seen too many living wretched lives in Charente-Maritime.
Un-neutered cats roam, multiply, suffer from and spread serious
feline diseases, and get killed on the roads. They also face such barbaric hazards
as Hunting, Poisoning and
the Fur
Trade
It's a shame, isn't it, that
the cat, with its place in history as an intelligent and enchanting companion throughout the ages -
revered even - should be left to proliferate and endure such
hardship?
There was a time when cats were worshipped.
Cats are popular pets - they are exhibited - they eat specially formulated foods -
there are accessories to keep them and their owners happy, and there are numerous clinics to keep them
healthy. There is a profitable industry behind pet
cats.
But what about the stray cat, slinking off into the undergrowth to find food for hungry
kittens? What is being done for her.....and all the other stray (semi-wild) or abandoned pet
cats? How much is being spent on
them?
NOT ENOUGH!... which is why our
stray cats association was formed, following in the footsteps of others - such as Les Amis des
Chats, Pattes de
Velours, Chats
Alors and Phoenix in other
Departments of
France.
