The door is propped open and food is placed at the back of the cage.
When a cat enters, a mechanism is automatically triggered, and the door
closes.
These traps are placed in the shade during Summer and in sheltered positions during Winter. A piece of carpet is left inside for the cat to lie on.
A primed trap would be checked morning and evening.
