Parents with a real passion for hunting will have children who may want to take up hunting as a
pastime when they are legally old enough to apply for a hunting permit.
Equally, parents who passionately
disapprove of killing animals and birds for pleasure will have children of similar age who may
consider hunting to be senseless and cruel.

Hunting Deaths
A
French association for the protection of
wildlife - ASPAS - has called for at least one hunting-free day a week in France following 3 hunting deaths.
One man was mistaken for an animal and shot dead.
The rest of Europe have such hunting-free days a week but not
France.

A balanced survey was carried out to establish the attitude of the people of France towards hunting, and the results are shown here.
60% of French
people are against hunting, and 36% are for
hunting.
The breakdown of this result, shown below, is in French but
is easily understood - just look for the number of people contre
(against) and pour
(for).
You will note that at the time this survey
was carried out, in 1998, that 2 groups
were for hunting -
the craftsman / farmer group and the family group where a husband / father is a hunter. The remaining 9
groups were against
hunting.
