The SPA is a French national organisation of 57 refuges (red circles) and 12 clinics (green circles).
 
Each year these refuges take in 45,000 stray cats and dogs - to care for them, neuter them
and find homes for them. Their clinics provide free veterinary care for people on low incomes.

 

T he SPA refuges in Saintes, Royan & La Rochelle in Charente Maritime 
are independent, and are not part of the national organisation.

Each year 1 million cats and dogs are produced for the French animal market and too many
are sold through classified advertisements in numerous free publications.

The SPA has been against this form of uncontrolled animal trafficking for a long time and invite all to sign their petition for government action to put an end to it.
