SUBSIDIES to neuter stray
cats
(Abandoned pet cats or semi-wild)
We ask you to take on some responsibilty concerning a stray (semi-wild) or
abandoned
pet cat which may appear in your garden. You can, of course ask the SPA to trap the
cat, but it will most likely be euthanaised if it has no identification or is
unadoptable.
See re-homing.
You can avoid this by paying yourself to
have the cat neutered, and then either adopted or released, as the case may
be.
VETERINARY COSTS
If our resources can afford it our
association may be able to help subsidise the neutering fees but those residents who request
our services will be encouraged
to make a voluntary donation or to join our association as members or volunteers, although not
obligatory.
If we have agreed a subsidy you will arrange for
the stray cat to be neutered, you will pay
the vet's fees and send us a copy of the bill. We will then send you a cheque to cover the cost..
Prices vary from one veterinary practise to another - a country practise may charge less
than a town practise - so it's worth shopping around - or
we could advise you.
