THE GREEK
QUESTION
Is Greece the cradle of European
civilisation? When you see what some cruel inhabitants of VERIA, a small
town in Greece, do to stray cats and dogs - mass poisonings - surely you must wonder just how
civilised parts of Greece really are. This is not the only town where this is happening.
The sad pictures below are representative of what has happened and is still
happening in Veria and in other Greek towns.
Visit Greek Animal
Rescue and read the plea from the GREEK CITIZENS OF
VERIA who are desperate for their uncaring municipality to take some humanitarian action. The
Mayor, Mrs Haroula Ousoultzoglou,
has the capacity & responsibility to put an end to this misery in Veria, but does nothing.

IN CONTRAST
A trial is taking place in a remote Guatemala community, whereby stray dogs -
males - are being neutered by simple
injection - which can also apply to male cats. A slight inconvenience at the most for these animals
but it goes a long way to help the local population control the spread of stray dogs.
It demonstrates too that their humanitarian action and approach is aeons
ahead of the Mayor of Veria's
poverty of action & thought which is only capable of allowing incredible cruelty to
continue to linger in the Greek town of Veria.
